2014 KBIS Highlights

LG Hausys Leads Product Innovation

As the 2014's Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) ended successfully, our annual dose of inspirational design in Las Vegas came to a happy ending. The event - or more so a festival, ran from Tuesday 4th - Thursday 6th of February, and whether your objective was to inspire or be inspired, there was plenty to keep everyone busy. KBIS, hosted by National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), in its first collaborative effort with the International Builders' Show (IBS), attracted nearly 100,000 registered visitors, accounting for 30% more attendees than projected and breaking the new record of most attended fairs. That was roughly double the traffic from the 2013 exposition.

While walking around the 700,000 square-foot Convention Center for three long days, we have kindly accepted that it's okay to get lost sometimes. Indeed, the magnitude of the show was astounding, presenting over 1,500 exhibitors. We were witnessing the housing market's reinvigoration. The show brought together an unprecedented diversity of professionals from disparate business sectors who were there to preview new products, explore the latest trends, review market performance and glimpse the future of the industry. Statistics from the previous year show that 45% of attendees represent the designer, dealer and builder audiences who on average reported an estimated 25% of business growth.

In another sign of guarded optimism, product releases had a distinctly up-market feel. Polished finishes, cabinets and surfaces with contemporary styling, together with chic appliances, all contributed to a very positive outlook for the future of the kitchen and bath sector. This year's survey results from NKBA revealed that the styles are definitely trending more towards a contemporary designs with even cleaner, simpler lines with little ornamentation allowing more visual space to the eye. During the show, LG Hausys team received nationwide attention for the launch of new collections of colors, technology and dealer programs. Constantly evolving and advancing technology means more choices in surfacing than ever before.

The show featured a dynamic lineup of keynote speakers. It was no surprise all seats to {Voices from the Industry} and {Featured Speakers} conference sessions sold out. The rule of thumb to keeping up with the fast-moving industry? - Attend KBIS, it was that simple. Next year KBIS, IBS and the International Window Coverings Expo will share the same space.
